GURUGRAM INTERNATIONAL COUTURE WEEK (GICW)
Held from 31st May -2nd June at Crown Plaza Hotel, Gurugram witnessed an array of designers participation .The event was organised by Kunal Gupta, Rudra Sinha & M Satya aiming to shine the spotlight on fashion in Gurugram. This three day event featured the best of veteran such as Ramola Bachchan , Rina Dhaka etc and the best of fresh Indian fashion design talent to local & international audiences including press & buyers bringing together fashion fraternity fostering creation and international development.
The glamour quotient was scaled up which attracted the audience from Bollywood and other top notch people from modelling and fashion fraternity. Some of the prominent names in the lists are Sonal Chauhan, Divya Kumar Khosla, Tanisha Mukerjee, Ashmit Patel, Riya Sen, Sara Khan, MouliI Ganguly and Supermodels Deepti Gujral, Archana A Kumar, Dushyant Singh Raghuvanshi, Lakshmi Rana etc.
Bollywood celebrities favourite, UK born Style Icon and Fashion Entrepreneur Designer Rebecca Dewan showcased her new collection “Morning Mist” at Gurugram International Couture Week 2019. The very talented and beautiful actress Sonal Chauhan looked ravishing in the lehenga saree as she turned showstopper and walked the ramp for Designer Rebecca Dewan.
Zillinie by Ahmad Ali’s menswear collection is perfect for wedding and festive season. The show began with traditional sherwanis and churidaars and featured fusion designs like kurtas with asymmetrical hems paired with pants. “It was a privilege to showcase at GICW. This collection was designed keeping in mind the summer season and therefore you will see pastel shades,” said Ali. Ashmit Patel Bollywood actor graced the ramp as showstopper for the designer.
The opening show was embarked by the marvellous designs of the veteran designer Rina Dhaka who reflected GICW dedication to high quality craftsmanship. She presented a casual wear collection with white and crème tones stating that these will be easy to wear in scorching summer. Riya Sen bollywood actress walked as the showstopper for the designer.
But what caught our sight was the show where by BLUESNGREYS by designers SAURABH GOTEWALA & SHILPI GOTEWALA presented their Men’s collection bringing aesthetical transformation in men’s fashion. The collection was about easy breezy lightweight fabrics, silhouettes and embroideries. The usage of soft fabrics, pure silks in Sherwani’s, intricate hand embroidery and embellishments made the garments look very elegant and impactful.
Their styling mantra “Keep it minimal, yet stylish.” because sometimes, overdoing a garment can kill its charm” added a plus point to the collection making it look beautiful as well as classy at same time.
When asked the designer about his inspiration behind the collection & his futuristic goals? He stated “The greatest inspiration that made us work on men's collection is the evolving changes in Indian men’s requirements. Now, they wish to dress properly for every occasion. From designer shirts, bundles, achkans to bandhgalas, fancy kurta pants and Sherwanis, we have a huge collection of men’s outfits.” Further added, “We aspire to make a special niche in the market for BluesNGreys with our unique dapper men's collection that fits perfectly to give a stunning look!”
