EXCLUSIVE INSIGHT OF IRW SS’19
The Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD) hosted its 11th Consecutive INDIA RUNWAY WEEK marking it as “PRET SEASON” held from 29th – 31st (March 2019).
This three day event witnessed the best of fresh Indian fashion design talent to local & international audiences including press & buyers bringing together fashion fraternity fostering creation and international development.
The opening show was embarked by the marvelous designs of the veteran designer Rina Dhaka who reflected IRW dedication to high quality craftsmanship. She described her collection as “GLAMOROUS & TRADITIONAL BUT EASY, FUN AND PLAYFUL MAKING WOMEN FEEL EMPOWERED, CONFIDENT AND COMFORTABLE.”
The event was also embraced by the presence and participation of renowned jewellery designer Mr Akaash K. Aggarwal who in collaboration with John miller curated men’s fashion, followed by Cantabil men’s clothing brand who presented their refreshing spring –summer 19 collection at the platform of IRW.
Ms Nitya bajaj showcased Summer Resort 2019 collection named SPOT which arrived with its utmost vibrancy exploring the vivid palette of orchre yellow , lilac , fuchsia and aquamarine giving the collection a feel of flirtiness and refreshment .
But what caught our sight was the Pre Finale show where by RAEGUN london based brand curated by KAMRAN PATEL (who studied at INIFD in Mumbai and at The London School of Trends in London) launched his first Men’s collection bringing transformation in men’s fashion. He showcased the work from the region of Ajrakhpur; Kutch mastered by only one community “The Khatris”.The Meticulously handcrafted Block Printed designs were blended with sharp cuts , straight and flowy.
Aditya Singh Rajput who has been part of lot of hi-street fashion campaigns & hundreds of TV Commercials (founder of a digital platform POP CULTURE MEDIA ) walked as the showstopper for the designer embracing the event.
When asked the designer about his inspiration behind the collection & his futuristic goals?
He stated that he always wanted to achieve “Unmatched style by modernizing the Traditional Crafts of India trying to bring back the forgotten art into futuristic design and keeping it old school at the same time adding further to make the best out of everything we've got today to make future much more better.
